Due to a number of stability issues with the new hardware in the UK some extensive logging was done and sent to the hardware vendor, the issue has been identified and a patch has been sent, this will be applied between 2am and 3am BST, the pysical servers need to be powered off for this to be applied and the work will take around 1 hour.

All virtual servers will be frozen/saved and then restored when powered back up this will avoid the virtual servers from rebooting, they will simply continue as if nothing happened which will avoid any of the issues with encrypted partitions and services being stoped.

This should be the final disturbance to restore long term stability.

Your understanding is very much appreciated, sadly there was simply no way to predict this and the analysis was extreamly complex.

Thanks.

Update 03:06 BST 28th October - the process is taking longer than expected but is according to plan, everything should be restored by 4am.

Update 03:38 BST 28th October - A power issue at the data center has forced the technician to leave the datahall due to saftey regulations with the backup generators taking over, this will further delay things, expected completion time is now 5am.

All work is complete.
