Due to certain changes in newer versions of xen during upgrading a situation occurred whereby both xm(xend) and libxl were running at the same time, this resulted in a situation where by a few clients could not reboot or rather once this was attempted it was impossible to bring the servers back up, in order to mitigate this manual intervention was required while waiting for an opportunity for a scheduled reboot, sadly the xen net driver crashed and the situation then applied to all customers with no work around available.
This forced the situation, a reboot was required to make the system stable again, the elements that caused this are fairly unique and one off so no further disruption is anticipated, if you hav a Xen HVM VPS you may need to perform a reboot from the solusvm panel in order to bring your server online if it does not come back automatically, this will rewrite your config file in to a newer format that libxl can use.
